The purpose of the Quality Inspection Program is to ensure that the building is being maintained in accordance with the General Specifications and at levels consistent with management expectations. The consistent application of the Quality Inspection Program also ensures management that those entrusted with the delivery of this most critical and costly service are catching normal errors and omissions and are correcting them before they become costly mistakes both in money and in occupant irritation.
The Quality Inspection System is simplistic in design and application so as to facilitate and encourage its use. The principle benefit of this system is that it forces supervision to inspect the building and to follow up on problem or potential problem areas on a routine basis. Properly and consistently applied, this system enables the supervisor to spend more time supervising and less time “putting out fires”.
In order to ensure that the system does not inadvertently slip from use, management requests copies of all reports generated and makes periodic random inspections on their own. This will reinforce management’s commitment to quality as well as uncover potential problem areas overlooked during routine inspections.
